I'm going to start off this debating thread.

Topic - Minecraft

I haven't got the game yet, for I want it out of beta first. I've seen a whole bunch of youtube videos of the game, and it's pretty amazing actually. It generates completely random worlds that you can explore, and you have to find an objective to start a quest. Like Swampy_Dogbeard is kind of difficult to find in one of the worlds. He literally FLYS up to a platform, and it takes a buttload of time to get up there. You can craft weapons, items, and my favorite, carve paths and set makeshift traps to kill Creepers and Zombies. There's TNT, Buckets where you can pickup lava, water to put fire out (that can be a life saver if you are on fire) Signs where you can mark your progress or place it as a landmark dedicated to you Online.
Overall, it's a pretty awesome game. The only downfall I can think of is graphics are kinda 2D and pixelated. And since it's currently in Beta, there are some riddled bugs.

i've known of it for a long time
i never had money so i got a cracked version from youtube
after playing with lags it finally crashed an wiped my computer so i swore to never touch it again(i think its mostly my"family"computer which isn't too strong)
so now i just watch lets play vids on youtube like a noob

If you actually pay the $21 dollars for it, there will be a lot stronger server, and safer. No viruses.
And yes, if you have a stronger computer, it will play smoother and a better experience. If you have the choice and money, get a gaming computer that's specifically for games.

It's a Gateway laptop, i'm not exactly sure what model it is.

What model is your computer? There should be a sticker somewhere on your computer. Not your monitor... your computer.

Ah okay. When you get a new computer buy a gaming one if you like to play big games like World of Warcraft or Minecraft.

its not really my decision what computer we'll get so i'll have to wait till i'm older and can buy one myself

It's not like normal computers can't handle games, since mine can.

I've seen some texture packs that make it look a lot better. The default graphics hurt my eyes.

It is 25% off during the beta. If you wait until the final game comes out (which I heard is supposed to be November 11th), you'll end up paying more and playing later.

Beast, to check your computer's specs click the Start menu, roll your mouse over "My Computer," right click and select properties.
